It depends on what part of the country you are in.
Beach towns get packed beyond belief.
Most tourist towns are not permitted to have motorized crafts in the water.
More Brugal is consumed from Thursday to Sunday than on any other regular month.
Loud music, traffic jams and drunk drivers are the order of the day.
Tourist town hotels are booked up way ahead of time.
One ways and red lights have no meaning in the latter part of Holy Week.

What else can I say, until we know where you will be?

No water sports Weds to Sunday (including snorkelling in Juan Dolio). Do not go on roads (too many drunk drivers). Crazy business for colmados. Do not come here on holiday as hotels packed. By the way I once wrote to the Pope asking why Easter moved every year and Christmas didn't - we know when Christ was born but the day he died moves - no reply. Anyone know????

There is alcohol in Punta Cana during Holy Week. The only thing I saw close down at the resorts was the water sports for 1 day - i think probably easter sunday, and not all of them even do that. As for off the resorts, I believe most things are open as usual, perhaps some things closed but not anything that you couldnt get by without.

Punta Cana may be relatively unaffected, as compared to other beach areas, and there certainly is no ban on drinking, although some local bars might have to close for Good Friday, or maybe just have no music.
It really should not affect you in an all inclusive resort.
