The largest private hospital in Santiago, Santiago Metropolitan Hospital (Homs) is asking all would-be patients to refrain from visiting their doctors. Homs’ medical director and deputy director, Mirian de los Santos and Hector Sánchez, say the temporary suspension of in-person doctor visits is in effect for the next two week

Likewise, in Santo Domingo, many doctors are seeing patients via Microsoft Teams, Zoom and other online media.

Since the start of the epidemic in March 2020, thousands have postponed surgical operations and other non-urgent doctor visits, replacing these when necessary by whatsapp conversations, telephone calls or online sessions.

Leading labs are also increasingly making home visits to help people to avoid the risk of visiting a hospital.

I do not understand why this is such major news......now.
Private clinics along the south eastern tier suspended one on one patient visits back in March, during the first SOE.
Consultations were handled via the methods stated above, and I have had continuing dialogues with several doctors utilizing WhatsApp.
Of course, emergencies are the exception.
