Hey DR1ers

My credit card is forcing me to use my travel points / travel miles within the next 90 some BS rules about using points within 5 years , i couldn’t even understand what the lady was telling me over the phone , anyways the point is that I must using soon ….Can anyone telling me anything and anything they know about hotel el embajador , the only thing I know it’s that ONE - it’s a 5 start hotel and 2- it’s one of the hotel that “AMEX-TRAVEL CONCIERGE” can set me up for a weekend getaway ….

So anything y’all can tell me about it will be helpful … I don’t trust EXPEDIA reviews I feel like it could be hotel staff or competition writing reviews …

So anything y’all can say by experience or by what have you heard or any comments regarding the hotel will be fine …any information will be welcome

PS. My other choices are WP HOTEL , and CROWN , and Santo Domingo hotel ….

But el Embajador seems to be very very “upscale “ from what I see in photos

Thanks ;

You can’t go wrong at the Embajador, lovely hotel with beautiful grounds and pool. Stayed there many times in the past, and friends stayed there recently.
Yep. One of the pillars of the DR hotel industry. Great place to stay.

Rey, maybe do a google search instead of Expedia? I'm pretty sure you can put a lot of faith in 5200+ reviews.

I actually prefer the El Embajador. They did a great job remodeling the rooms. The Crown on the Malecon needs a refurbishing. The lobby is small but the executive lounge (if you get that room type) was nice. Rooms are just "tired" as well as the bathrooms. Malecon hotels tend to be noisier.

The El Embajador is a favorite of mine as well. It is close to everything, and I can do my power walk in the park in the evening. I can also walk to 1/2 dozen restaurants. The pool is awesome, and my Chica loves it as well.
