There's a la catalina hotel up on the hill that is very good. It's about 10-15 minutes from Cabrera.

I have not heard of the hotel you mentioned. Perhaps it's the former Costa Verde. There is also a very small hotel right next door to the La Catalina hotel. Unfortunately, I dont know it's name
Perhaps this information will, however, be helpful to you.

The phone number for the La Catalina Hotel is 809-589-7700.
Their email address is la.catalina@codetel.net.do
The Catalina hotel is very nice and is all inclusive. Located about 4 miles east of Cabrera.

The Costa Verde hotel may have closed. Im not sure. Their phone
number is/was 809-248-5287 This hotel is about half way between Cabrera and Rio San Juan located near Playa Grande Golf course.

Caribbean Village is excellent. They were recently purchased by Occidental Hotels. I dont know their phone number but it is listed on the internet. Try Occidental Hotels or Caribbean Village Playa Grande.
This hotel is ocean side and is excellent.

The Bahia Blanca hotel is closer to Rio San Juan than Cabrera. I have heard good reports about it. Their phone number is 809-589-2562
Hope this information is helpful to you.

Hi Tom,

I'm from Cabrera and just came from my 3 weeks vacation there.
I do not recognize the name "Luis Hotel", and Cabrera is a very small town. To be honest with you, there aren't many good hotels right in the town. Outside the town is another story. If you are looking for a Motel like, then there is a nice one right next to the ocean, in the town. Is called "Atlantic Breeze" by "the campo de la aviacion" area. It consists of 4 suites. Each one has a big bedroom with two full size beds, tv, cable 2 balconies overlooking the ocean, sitting area (couch, dining table with 4 chairs),kitchen etc. Don't need air conditioning, great breeze!. They have their own generator. The attendant's name is Felix, his wife cleans the place as needed. I was paying RD$400.00/day. If you are interested, the phone # is (809)589-7740 (they do not speak english)

While we are at it: If you like hamburgers, there is "Shori Pan" in the same street where the hotel is.
Also they have this new restaurant "Rosse's". They specialize in italian food and seafood. (Excellent!!!). This is located right in the center of the town (calle Duarte)near by the square.

Hope you can make there and enjoy my beautiful town.

WARNING: The town is having water shortage, so be aware of having running water about twice a day only. (The hotel has BIG buckets though :)

Good lock!
Felicita

In Cabreta proper there are two small hotels. Aparta Hotel Francis about 2 years old about two blocks west of the town square. RD$360 a night five rooms w/hot water. The other is Hotel El Dorado, four rooms over a pizza rest.RD$160 unless you want a private bathroom then it's double. It's right on the coastal highway at the east end of town. Luis could be a pension.
