According to our trip information, the Play Real is about 45 minutes from Santo Domingo. Thanks for any information.

The Playa Real Beach Resort in Juan Dolio is about 45 minutes from Santo Domingo. However it is closer to the Santo Domingo Airport than Santo Domingo itself. Also, since Santo Domingo has no beach, Juan Dolio (and Boca Chica) are the beaches closest to Santo Domingo.

Thank you. We are so looking forward to this experience! We'll be staying in Punta Cana (Melia Caribe Tropical) also, but first Santo Domingo. Are there any fabulous dance clubs (salsa...) that you can recommend for 40+'ers?

Hello! Can anyone comment on the Playa Real Beach Resort in San Pedro de Macoris and the Melia Caribe Tropical in Punta Cana? We are staying at both places next month. When we booked the trip, we asked for Santo Domingo and PUnta Cana. According to our trip information, the Play Real is about 45 minutes from Santo Domingo. Thanks for any information.

The Melia Caribe Tropical is a very nice all-inclusive resort!!! You and your husband chose a very nice place to stay!!! :classic:

Free food, drinks, and fun 24/7!!!

This resort has many activities such as paintings, vollyball, bingo, partial nude beaches. :surprised

At this resort, there is a three-hour lunch special. The resort will inform you about it. I think it is around $30 US dollars. You take a boat at the beach and take a 30-minute ride to the other side and the boat will take you to a nice outdoor seafood restautant. The lobster is excellent!!!

You eat and tour the beach for around 2 hours. You then take the boat back to your resort.
