My name is Franklin Gonzalez, currently representing Hotel La Danae (Gazcue, street La Danae no. 18). Im introducing myself with the purpose of trying to get familiarized with the turism coming into DR and provide everyday quality service. So any concerns, problems you may have had with us please, I encourage you to come visit us again if youre looking for a extremely clean budget hotel with a nice ambient, you'll notice the difference! Reforms are being implemented as of now!

Hi,
We?ve implemented Internet Access via WiFi in the common areas of the Hotel (Balcony and Front Gallery) for clients that carry their own PC, and we have a PC that can be used by clients to check emails and browse the web. We?re in the process of implementing internet access in every room,

We are trying to provide simple and efficient service to the customer encouraging privacy. As always Very Clean rooms, it?s our primary objective to provide very clean rooms, a good ambient(nice and quiet) and of course quality service.

The posted rates are per person as mentioned on your website? A double room for two people would be 2600 pesos or $78 USD per night seems a little steep.

yeah - when I booked a friend into that hotel last year the room was about $20 - so to go from $20 to $78 --- that would require a whole lot more than adding wifi-- it is an old building... not big rooms, no tv, really -- 78 a night?

I couldn't believe it either but this is what the website lists:

I Invite you to come here, and try it for yourself, we?re not the Ritz, but surely we have a nice ambient here, peaceful and safe, with cable TV, hot water, safe boxes, and surely a nice and humble service!

The hotel is OK and moderately priced but one must be wary of leaving a vehicle parked at night outside since the hotel has no security whatsoever and car theft and burglary is rather the norm than the exception.

what do you know of the neighborhood? i know grand theft auto is common, but has it been rampant in front of this hotel? or on the block? dang....

I met a taxi who had his back window completly and surgically removed. I mine no glass nowhere on the ground.

It happened last week on that street.

oh damn....well then that place is out of the question since i am driving a rental....dang

You might be okay since his car was the toyota 80s model, that are so popular with the carros and taxis.

I think a newer model rental, really would'nt be target.
