Hotel Suite Colonial - Hotel Boutique

Has any of you ever stayed at the Hotel Suite Colonial located in the Zona Colonial, on the old Padre Billini Street? We're thinking about staying there for three days this November, but we don't know anything about the hotel. Any info would be appreciated. Thanks!

We stayed there back in 2004. It is a very nice place to stay. They have kept a historic look to it, so it kind of takes you back in time. However, the bathroom are brand new. There is a very nice courtyard were you can have breakfast every morning. There is a very nice girl that works in the kitchen. It is also very private eventhough you are in a busy area, while you are in there it feels quiet and peaceful.
My father in-law told the owner that it was the best hotel he had ever stayed in, and he has traveled all over the world.

Note: The "breakfast included" is coffee or cafe con leche, oj, and two slices of toast with jam. Otherwise, the price is right and the accomodations are good (incld. hot water, though this sometimes requires negotiation).

Hi Guys..im going with my husband to DR next weekend and we are going to be staying at El Senioral vs the Suite colonial ..i was wondering if you ever ended up staying at this hotel to let me know how it was.because its only 10 more a night then the El Senioral

Hotel suite Colonial

august 2009, we spent 2 nights in this hotel, we reserved it on the website, where it looks nice, but it isn?t so. The rooms are very small, window is inexisting, the bathroom is very small, the first day we had no facetowel available, the external machines of the air conditionning are very noisy. But very very disappointing was the breakfast. A girl is serving a coffe, an orange juice, some toasted bread, marmelade and a little bit butter. It seems a lot, when i listed the products, but I never find such a poor breakfast. The 2nd day we had our breakfast outside. The position is good, to enter and go out you need somebody to open the grating because it?s closed by key evertime.
For quite the same price you can find brand new hotels, with better service and room.
