on this page you can find allmost all information you need:http://www.debbiesdominicantravel.com/
but all the hotels inside the Playa Dorada area not cheap if you travel without a "package".
There are a lot cheaper Hotels in Puerto Plata -costambar-cofresi.

If you want an all inclusive that is affordable outside the main season, the Riu Mambo about 15 minutes drive West of Puerto Plata is a good choice.

It is stylish and lively, in a beautiful setting.

However, if it doesn't have to be all inclusive - personally I prefer to travel independently - I too would recommend the Cofresi/Costambar area. Try for instance Villas Olas Tropicales, a decently priced Bed & Breakfast in Costambar on www.cruising-america.com/villas/

Re: Anna's Aparts.5 Mins.Outside ( Playa Dorada)

hola Pedro,
its charly again, I just read Anna's posting. I use to live in the same street over years (5 years ago) and know that this is a good opportunity!!! And in all of the Playa Dorada Resorts you dont get a room under 100$US a day........
There are a lot of good&cheap restaurants near by (the best POP steakhouse+one of the best Pizza, the only chinese etc.)
Only if you need to stay in a Resort, you have to forget about:)

Dorado Club is the one ( Playa Dorada)

Dorado Club Resort is the cheapest all-inclusive of the Playa Dorado Resorts and one of the nicest. They just renovated the resort this spring so everything is fresh and new,

Pedro- Stayed at Heavens for 5 nights in Feb. and cost was $318US.Did Club On The Green year before 6 nights and paid $355US.The time of year you're going rates should be a little less.Check with a travel agent! I've tried to book hotels there directly and have always been qouted "rack rates".A GOOD travel agent will save you money.

Re: Dorado Club is the one ( Playa Dorada)

No, they did not renovate the whole Dorado Club Resort, I just got back from there this past Saturday. The only thing that has been renovated is the lobby. They did not have the pool barbecue and bar open, it is still being worked on, and they haven't begun the rooms yet. This renovation process is going to take well over another year from what I am told. However, it is rather cheap to stay at. Not many choices for food right now, the restaurant that they are opening was not open as of this past Saturday, so basically it's buffet, buffet or buffet, e-mail me if you have questions.
