they are not vacant because folks who live there cannot sell and have no money to go somewhere else.
i know that i am casting pearls before swine here, but there are people who CHOOSE to live in la mulata.
we moved here from another major nc project & would not consider anywhere else.
it is close enough to town to walk, not crawling with drunk teens & young adults on sundays like beachfront communities.
some of us do not want to be controlled as in gated developments or go native in the campo either - la mulata offers a nice compromise for us.
oh, & just to correct the mis-information above - properties are selling here - in fact in one area of 30 homes, 3 have sold within the last 6 months alone
