I am getting a bonus from my employer equal to 10 days salary.
My employer says that Dominican law says for purposes of calculation there are 23.8 workdays in a month or 285.6 workdays in a year.
This does not sound right. Especially since I know the U.S. uses 21.6 workdays per month.
Does anyone know the legal amount of work days for calculations?

thanks

To be exact, daily salary is equal to:
23.83 work days/month=285.96 workdays/year
11.91 work days per quincena
5.5 work days/week.

Remember the Dominican workweek is a 5 and 1/2 day workweek equal to 44 hours.

Howmar is correct, those are the numbers from the Labor Code.

As an employer, the thing that does not sound right to me about this is an employee receiving an extra bonus, and complaining that it's not enough.

Not enough - find another job you will enjoy (maybe in the US if it's so great)

In the few months that you have been heen you have quickly acquired the Dominican work ethic. Would you like to confirm how many days of liquidation you are entitled?:ermm:
