I like it... I have always enjoyed seeing how people make good food for less. I have had chicken meatballs and with the right spices added they are pretty good. I am looking forward to her next video.

Post after midnight and it is likely you will only find the nocturnal under rock dwellers out and about.

Some get it some don't. This month it appears that I am on a bit of a language jihad. This is was not my first post about the incorrect usage of an English word. I'm not trying to be the language/grammar police but merely point out some of the many examples of language laziness that seems to be increasing on these pages of late.

While my message may be interpreted as a bit harsh, that usually only happens with those who speed read through the content without pausing long enough for any sort of enlightened comprehension to take hold. The entire piece was focused on a single word and why the choice to use that word caught my attention at 1:00 am.

I did point out that I thought it was a good idea for the concept of the video to be presented and I did wish Sofi good luck at the bottom but I suspect that the daytime "slow cook your brain" sun worshipers probably didn't make it that far before pounding the dislike button and displaying their limited reading comprehension.

That's one of the nice things about DR1 and the DR in general, it can appeal to all types. The quality of the video is by the way I feel top notch and that meal just may be of interest to a large segment of the local population; Just not the part that considers themselves gourmets or who repeatedly drop more than $100 pesos on drink after drink, hour after hour at their haute culture watering hole on Pedro Clisante Este.

Viva ground chicken parts. Staple of the cost obsessed shopper. It's wonderful and tastes just like everything else (apparently). What's not to like about faux pasta that costs the same as a packet of faux tomato paste - gourmet indeed, Dominican style, where results rarely exceed the hype.

Just great another morning screed. A lost cause is a lost cause, so moving on...

Reverse sandwich technique was not required to get your point across. The video is well done, the presenter is attractive, plus the meal preparation and explanation are great. Sometimes less words are better.

Thanks for all the encouraging comments, I'll send them over to her !

Well done. Keep in mind that when some people post here they display their inner Richards. They can't he'p it. They don't know any better. Great channel. Keep 'em coming.

Amazing, even your feeble attempt at being magnanimous come across as anything but. What this video is to me and many others is a culmination of some of the very posts we have seen lately.1)Dominican ingenuity
(making the most with what little you have 2) cooking with Dominican ingredients 3) and above all else hospitality. This couple invited us into their home and you managed to P**s on their floor.I won't ever profess to being a Rhodes Scholar nor am I equipped with upper echelon academic pedigree, which I'm sure by the the many grammatical errors in my replies is quite evident. What I do have though is a sense of decency that allows me to break bread with people from all walks, be they crude or cultured. And lets remember, a peacock for however colorful and awe inspiring his display is, he still has to s**t.

I'll take a guess ....a chemical version of real tomato paste. Only guess.

I take that back. My response was incorrect. The correct answer to "faux tomato paste" (which she did not do) is "faux tomato SAUCE" which is what was done. She took tomato paste(concentrated tomato) and cut it with water to make it a sauce. sorry.

So I still don’t understand what is faux pasta and faux tomato paste. Maybe our gourmet expert Cdngringo could explain me please.

Semantics. From a can or pouch vs fresh. From durum semolina vs flour.

Can we get back to the YouTube channel?

Well I never saw a tomato paste plant so all tomato paste is faux. And semolina is flour. But back to the channel.

Enjoyed watching this video, she is a natural, filmed and edited well...

Only recommendation to maybe go for meals for 4 and increase to 300p total, then you can do a lot more interesting stuff...

Great video, but spaghetti with huge chicken meatballs? Why not season and then ground it up in the sauce. Also why does the noodles not seem like they are soft it looks stiff? Maybe she should throw at the fridge or wall to see it done.

Great video. Pasta looks properly cooked.

Imagine all the fuel wasted in the DR overcooking pasta.

Maybe instead of pointing out the "wrong", everyone can post their cooking for less recipes/ideas. I think that would be great to see what others do to stretch a dollar..peso. Although I do not have specific recipes, my go to are spaghetti and omelets. One can get pretty creative and keep it low cost.
