Im planning my trip to DR and i was thinking about taking a trip from samana to the Haitises national park. How is the best way to do it? I like to see as much as possible for the smallest amount of money:)

Thank you

Excursions leave from Saman? and S?nchez, so if you want a budget option shop around for the best deal. You can also take the foot passenger ferry across to Sabana de la Mar and take an excursion from there.

Tru-life:

Last year I went to Los Haitises with Isis Tours Company. It was a great trip.
I think I paid $2,200.00 DP with everything included. One day trip.
From Santo Domingo we left at 6:00 am stop in Sanchez for breakfast and took a boat for couple hours and we had lunch by the ocean and also a historic trip around Sanchez city was included. I found it inexpensive, relax and interesting trip.
Hope this can help you.;)

Sorry, I did not realize you were asking specific from Samana to the Haitises National Park. The best recommendation is the one given by Chirimoya.

Check if Kim is still there

Years ago, I enjoyed a wonderful visit to the national park and whale watching arranged by a Canadian named Kim. It's important to get a reputable company, since some pack the boats and endanger lives.

Around 3 times as many tourists as whales descend on Saman? during the whale-watching season and for a brief spell every year the town is booming. Several local operators run boat trips out into the bay from January to March to afford visitors a closer view of this natural phenomenon. Perhaps the best-known, and certainly appropriately eco-friendly, are the tours run by Victoria Marine. This operation was the first to offer whale watching trips over two decades ago. Victoria Marine's owner, a renowned marine-biologist, Kim Bedall, from Canada – helped not only to bring Samana to prominence as a center for whale-watching, but also developed the safe-practice guidelines that protect both the whales and the 'watchers' during this amazing annual occurrence.

I had a good experience with Hotel Paraiso Ca?o Hondo, this is an idillic place in the middle of Los Haitises, they provide tour with lunch included at the hotel followed by a dip in the refreshing waterfalls that surround it. This is an ecological hotel, I went for a one-day tour and could not leave, I had to stay overnight, which was good because breakfast the next day was the highlight of my trip.
