Im going to Puerto Plata for 2 months.
I know there is a Larry that used to frequent this board who rents out apartments, but don't know how to contact him...perhaps someone else reading this post does? Also, I know that there is a Juan Burgos that rents out apartments for I think $250 US/month, but not positive on that....have been in the apartments, they are very nice, have cable, a generator, a full kitchen, and hot water. I went for a two week holiday and loved it. I have made friends out there but calls are expensive and they are not online. I would also like to sort out my apartment for my self for peace of mind. Im going to Uni in September and just wanted a break for a while. To chill out meet some interesting people and have a wicked time. I have about ?1000.00 saved up for spending. That should be enough for 2 months shouldn't it?

Time off
I think life should be like high school,with the summers off!Thats my biggest gripe about the states,you work all year for two lousy weeks off.Then the company acts like they are going to go under if you actually take the two weeks.More power to you Kezzab,I wish it was me.

$1,500 dollars +/- won't last long as a tourist...
You had best investigate the possibilities of a "pensi?n", which can offer bed, bath and food. You would have to go pretty "native" to last two months in POP on $1,500.
I know that you'll enjoy yourself, but do be sensible.
