Just now, this showed up on my radar. Looks like the south might get good rain at the moment.

Those radar shots have been sending me crazy of late. I am looking outside at present at perfectly blue sky with not a cloud in sight . Ridiculously but not strangely , the two provinces of La Romana and Altagracia which are covered in green on this radar shot are two provinces not included in the DR rain warnings.

I think that radar photo may have been a predicted one because 15 hours after MiamiDRGuy posted it, La Romana had severe thunderstorms for an hour. Jumbo in La Romana this morning resembled a skating rink as water last night had entered from the roof above about 8 aisles ,destroying much merchandise .I suppose that no one had cleaned any drains or gutters for 6 months .

Was the Air condition strong enough for ice skating......HaHa. I was 2 years ago in Jumbo POP, relative new, Buckets of water in many isles bad construction.

Drove from PUJ to Santo Domingo Saturday. Had some light showers on the way...same on the way back, except for a stretch from Cumayasa to Benerito where it was a snowstorm of rain. Yesterday here down by the airport, showers on and off, with a period of rain for an hour or two overnight. Not flooding rains, but enough to bring everything back to life and to confirm that I did not find the water leak in my car (thought I had it all figured out and repaired!!!).

You were brave driving through that deluge . I have never heard thunder so dramatic and frightening ..As RDKNIGHT said it was so spectacular that it was enjoyable.

I want it to stop raining in Sajoma. Everyday for the past three weeks. Drought up here before then. My family and friends are tired of my raining cats and dogs videos on WhatsApp. The 2800 gallon cistern and the 500 gallon tinaco are topped off. I've got yard work to do and it ain't getting done.
