Now in the "57 Thread"

he's hot!
I am sure the woman guards will be lining up for this guy! Very good looking in deed!
not so much any more, hes in the cooler and has a boy friend.

This is all very nice... :tired:
However, my intention was (and it obviously failed) to create a thread where DR1 members can check why their neighbour or 'good buddy' disappeared so quickly...
Just the facts (names, places, a photo maybe), no speculation nor proposing marriage...

Maybe this thread can be used to list the crimininals who were hiding in this country but were finally caught by INTERPOL.

General Stuff?

Moved to General as Living forum is for those that live in DR.

Rick is not.

"General stuff
For all those questions without a home.
Not for the faint hearted or easily offended!"

The information who was caught by INTERPOL would actually interest the residents, would it not?

And for that you need to dislike?

That's ok. Don't really care.

If the mod for General Stuff thinks like you, then move back to Living.

Either that or List?n Diario reported an old incident...which would not be a first.
But then there is this

the same listin reported his arrest in 2014: Interpol captura en RD a 20 criminales fugitivos extranjeros | List?n Diario
and of course there is an article from 2013: Pobegli Slovenec padel v zasedo na letališču | Slovenskenovice.si
google translate:
LJUBLJANA - In the Dominican Republic have arrested a Slovenian on the run Hari Presetnik (born 1968), who chased him with a warrant on 14 March 2011. Presetnik were arrested in Punta Cana, where he flew in from the US Atlanta. As records show the foreign media are Presetnik at the airport greeted the people of Interpol.
Why are you looking for
Presetnik is the wanted person himself because of bank fraud, browsing the World Wide Web shows that it is a veteran athlete, who has participated in extreme sports challenges, such as, for example, Ironman competition. So a few days ago I took part in the Florida Ironman.
If you believe the record in the foreign media have already begun the procedures for extradition Presetnik Slovenia, which is also on the list of wanted persons.
Police Response
"In conjunction with any questions can be confirmed only that it was said Slovenian citizen really controlled at the airport of Punta Cana in the Dominican Republic, but have not been declared extradition detention," they told us from the police and added that it District Court Ljubljana otherwise ordered an international arrest warrant and the European arrest warrant and surrender. It is suspected of fraud and business fraud.

a little bit more about this guy, slovenia is now looking to have him extradited: http://www.listindiario.com/la-repu...ional-de-su-pais-acusado-de-estafa-millonaria
interesting thing is that this guy is a naturalized dominican citizen. makes you wonder about all the criminals applying for and obtaining dominican citizenship despite being wanted by the police. and a development to follow for all those who think they would not be deported ever as long as they are here legally...

So, he had no problem getting the Dominican citizenship.... ;)
Now he is 'padre de la familia' with 2 children.
He also seems to have enough money to grease palms...

Interesting case...

Anybody wanted in another Country can be deported. Dominicans are sent to the US all the time to face charges. Has nothing to do with being here legally. If you are wanted you will go when they get you.

Extradition For Sure?

It depends. I think somebody wanted by the US will be extradited for sure.
Slovenia might not have the same 'weight'.
Will the extradition request not be heard in a court?

If the person wanted is a Dominican Citizen, dual citizenship is the same, then he has to have a hearing before the DR Supreme Court before he can be sent away. This guy can fight this if he is a DR citizen.

Unless this was changed (since 2005):
http://www.dominicantoday.com/dr/bu.../3449/FOREIGNERS-UNDER-DOMINICAN-CRIMINAL-LAW

the extradition of Dominican citizens is prohibited.
Only the US and Spain have bilateral treaties with the DR.

the citizenship can be revoked for various reasons, it's not something set in stone.
