And I would be one of those people.
I did it with French and I did it with Spanish.
The present and the passé composé all the way, every day.
But...I also bought the books and read and tried so hard.
Every time I use the subjunctive (correctly) in French or in Spanish, I still get a little thrill that runs up my leg.
It makes me proud.
Now...
If I could just get straight on the por and the para.
Life would be a dream.

Just do what you did to learn the subjunctive. Understanding por and para is pure practice. There are many quizzes on line that you can try and challenge yourself to figure out why your answer is incorrect if you get any wrong.

Any suggestions for online practice for Subjuntivo ?

So I'm doing a Fluencia quiz and they ask me to translate "The flowers in the garden are dead." I write " Las flores en el jardin son muertas." They say it should be estan and not son, because "It looks like you mixed up son, a form of the verb ser, with están, a form of the verb estar. Remember, ser is generally used for longterm traits (job, height, etc.) while estar is used for temporary states (weather, emotions, etc.)."

To me, dead is fairly permanent. What am I missing. And yes, I do think this is kinda funny.
The way I look at "permanent" is that is a condition that has more or less always existed - "las flores son rojas". They were red yesterday, too.

"Las flores estan muertas" - that's their state today. It's not an inate condition.

If you think you can remember them, this website is a nice place to check them out.

This is a good website for learning Spanish. I like their word of day with audio. It is opportunity to learn at least one word everyday.

Here are some links to get started:

The grade is listed beside each practice exercise. I recommend you do all of them.

This website is good for Spanish grammar in general. You will find explanations about the subjunctive in Spanish, French, German etc. Very helpful!

Lots of practice opportunity with this link.

This is a test. Give it a try.

Spanish grammar exercises in general. European grade levels.

@Africaida,

I just did the quiz I referenced in my post above. I recommend it because after each answer there is an explanation why the answer is correct. It is good practice.

I just went on there to work on the preterit. They really helped and there is more detail if you want. I'm going to use them more.

I like to look at those types of websites in order to give my opinion if asked. I recommend Spanish Dict to complement beginner level Spanish but on its own there is not enough info. It scratches the surface with good examples on essential grammar topics for beginners.

Here is a teacher’s blog that gives an explanation of Ser and Estar.

I really like the explanation and examples.
