They have been trying to sue the Japanese government for quite some time.

Many of them are simply disgruntled that they missed the economic miracle of Japan and this is understandable.

However, Japan was in pretty bad economic shape when the Japanese came, equivalent to the bad social shape the Jews were in when they arrived in Sosua.
