Is there a good way to get form Jarabacoa to the carnival and back? I noticed that the La Vega caribe tours is pretty far from the carnival location. Any recent experience with Uber in La Vega? I've got a car but I'd like to avoid driving during the drunken festivities (and I wouldn't mind having a few presidentes myself). Any advice is much appreciated

I've taken a guagua from downtown at the taxi location beside Jarapan, to near Jumbo in La Vega.

When I returned, I had a moto take me to the pick-up spot. It was down a side-street as a recall.

The price was reasonable, the driver was focused, and vehicle in good condition.

I don't know what hours they work to in the evening though...

lots of guaguas and they are cheap. They have a central pickup /drop-off point, just ask the driver when he drops you off in La Vega how often they return. You get on at the parada to Jarabacoa which is across from the police station., The driver will drop you off where the carnival is. The last bus is either 6 or 7 pm, miss that and you have to take a taxi.
