Jarabacoa to SDQ Airport Friday Afternoon

I am in a position where I must travel from Jarabacoa to SDQ Airport on a Friday afternoon. My question is: Is there a way to reasonably do this without traveling through the middle of the horrible traffic in Santo Domingo at 4pm on a Friday? The maps I have show some convoluted routes that seem to promise some suprises as well as no savings of time. Any suggestions will be welcomed. If there is no other good way I will change the time of my trip or bring my "Learn Latvian In Your Car" CDs. At least I will speak a new language by the time I arrive at SDQ.
