Schools are to close from 15 to 19 February 2024 for the municipal elections nationwide in the Dominican Republic.

The Central Electoral Board (JCE) is requesting that the Ministry of Education order the suspension of classes in the schools where polling stations are installed. But the shutdown would be extended to all schools in the DR.

The suspension would be from 15 to 19 February to give time to set up and clear out the voting stations. The municipal vote is scheduled for Sunday, 18 February 2024.

Just another example of how much importance they put upon the education of the children of this nation. Much more important to elect the morons to government than educate the kids. The system is already lacking and you take 3 more days of schooling.
