jet blue, two one ways cheaper than roundtrip?

I was pricing sti to nyc 3/11 - 3/30, Same flights were $30 cheaper booking two one way flights. Has anyone come across this lately? I had thought round trips were always cheaper.

A lot of the lost cost carriers are based on one way fares now. Sometimes it is cheaper with the taxes to book two one ways.

I see that here in Canada too.
