I have to take what i said about Sambil back.. I went about a month ago on a saturday and that day i saw it packed.. But i asked my mom how it gets daily and she says that its mostly empty in the week days..

But i know for a fact that 360 and Agora are full almost all the time.. I go very frequently to these two.

Over-priced, yet delicious burgers for selected ones whom can afford them in the DR. Plato del dia goes more in-line with the populace anyways. This by no means picture any sort of development for a country, as opposed, its a bad jest on their own people IMO.

Some as Pichardo take pride in such waste.

one would believe that PICHARDO would be celebrating the establishing of a good local burger house, instead of this repetitive bugling of the arrival of yet one more MNE. making a good burger is not exactly johnny rocket science.

I love their shakes, so enough reason to celebrate it!

Not much of a beef burger lover, more into turkey.

shakes are not harder to make than burgers. i am awaiting the day when you celebrate the arrival of a Dominican operation that can do things that compete with foreign counterparts. then we know that progress is here. the opening of yet one more foreign franchise makes me wonder why we have to look outside for simple solutions like half decent fast food.

i figured out that if i dont care for the beef in a country....i stick with that...id go ...but i would really look around for a dominican rest...first and get something to eat....then go to the rockets for a chance to meet a young lady and couch (coach)her...to help her in her understanding of the hamburger lifestyle...

Dominican fast food is delicious as it is. What you have is two things: Local and imported food offers.

And about competition, many local brands or models have trumped imports for decades! Bon to name one alone!

please, PICHARDO; what Dominican fast food is delicious? you can't get a decent local hamburger, for chrissakes. get real.

i agree that Bon is very good ice cream. just don't get carried away. several US ice creams blow it away.

Been a number of times to JR both in SD and in the states. Beef in the DR even at rockets is fair at best ....there is a difference.
If I had the balls (and likely stupidity), I would open and test one or two small chicken wing / villa mella style Chicharron de
cerdo places to give the pica pollo Chinese guys a run....close enough to AIs, but in the barrio . The best American style buffalo and beyond wings (for adventuresome locals), crossed with gringo head spinning chicharron.
Add a PA system, a Brahma or Presidente cooler or two and off we go.
Be the best month o fun until the money runs out. Then I'm off like dad looking for less responsibility and a younger wife.

However I would always visit Johnny rockets to watch the staff shred with their dance numbers. Nobody rips it to Bill Haley or
Elvis like the SD JR staff...guess it's all that toddler training with bachata and merengue.

Dominicans have been frying food forever and its only in the last couple of decades that waists have been expanding. Fried food can't be the reason for increasing fatness.

Nope, highly processed food is the reason.

I agree with that but you can't discount that the fertile soils of the DR are being used to feed the population very well. The caloric intake of the average Dominican shows that.
