Dominicans are celebrating the prowess of national basketball team player Karl Anthony Towns in the Eastern Conference final matches between the New York Knicks and the Indiana Pacers. When it seemed as if the third game between the Knicks and Pacers was decided, it was Towns in the final quarter who delivered an incredible 20 points to turn the game around and lead the Knicks to win 106-100.

When I saw the Knicks had a chance to win it all this year, I watched my first NBA game since I lived in NY as a kid when the Knicks had Willis Reed, Walt Frazier, Dean the Dream Meminger, Bill Bradly and Dave Deboucher (sp?)

I had no idea that KAT had a Dominican background. This year he is still going while Amelia Vega's hubby is taking a rest from hoop.

HIs mother was a Dominican originally from Bavaro, Punta Cana. Unfortunately she passed away in 2020 from Covid..................
