Isn't the new tax one percent of the fiscal value of the vehicle starting this year? They wanted to introduce this already last year but the president stopped it.

Isn't the new tax one percent of the fiscal value of the vehicle starting this year? They wanted to introduce this already last year but the president stopped it.

It was supposedly cancelled later, when the raise in toll was announced, but since they never raised the toll, who knows if the 1% tax comes back?

They most likely cancelled it because they would have to confiscate about 500,000 or more cars from non payment. They have enough trouble collecting the 1500 or so pesos now.
