Since they keep mentioning Churchill, I'm going with the section between 27 feb and Kennedy. I'm betting Jimenez de Moyo is not included.

The lighting was a priority with David Collado. He was responsible for lighting a good portion of the city.

Can any community member state how the new lighting systems come across?
Sundown is at 7:01 PM. Curfew starts at 7:00 PM. They cannot walk along Av. Winston Churchill or drive unless they have some exception to explain why they are out.
Care to inform us of how you would like someone to state how the new lighting systems come across? :ROFLMAO:

In case you do not know, DR1 is a platform that contains many persons of all different walks of life, from many cultures. Many include those who do indeed still 'work' for a living, and thus yes, would have reason to be in the streets past the curfew hours with official permission to do so.
Not every member of the DR1 community is a person on vacation, or a retiree on a government pension/subsidy such as yourself.
Persons of such are more commonly able to contribute to the real deal and real feel of the RD, before or after hours.

One thing I do know that if you want to go know about something in the Dominican Republic and you actually live here you can just go and look at it for yourself.

Have you been listening again to those people who do not believe I am a "seasoned investor" who could not have made enough money investing in real estate or the stock market or both to sustain a meager household in two different countries and travel between them at will?

Now I am sorry if you are unhappy because you still have to ‘work’ for income and I do not.🤣 But I get up everyday and as Kool Moe Dee says "I goto work" on the business of the daily enjoyment of live here in 🇩🇴. I will share with you (in case you do not know) that nothing is given to anyone without a reason. So my suggestion to you is to keep your assumptions in check. But you do what you like. You wrote your opinion as if it is a fact. It was directed at me and I can tell you (as the expert on me) that it is not and it is inaccurate. Since when have we talked about my source of income and financial support?

Please save your inaccurate opinions about me, assumptions about me and ad hominen attacks on me for yourself and those who are actually seeking personal advice and self help information about themselves and the ones actually care about what you have to say about them. I am not one of those people.

A persons source of income has nothing to do with their knowledge.
I knew a Haitian that cleaned houses. She spoke four languages.
What surprises me. 😳 is you, being someone who thru implication has explained that you are an economic imperialist taking advantage of the currency arbitrage between the DOP and the currency of your home country (I have never spoken with you about it so I do not know where that is), should have the experience to know this even if you are simply looking down from your elevated perch. Get out and take a look at things in the Dominican Republic for yourself bro‼

Since DR1 is indeed a diverse community the contributions from all of it’s members can be of value to others. Simply because you have issues with a particular poster does not mean that others do also. 26 + posts and not a one of those diverse group of members who have the ability to go and actually look at Av. Winston Churchill has commented or in anyway have said a word about what they personally seen about the lighting on Av. Winston Churchill. I can tell you about lighting. And not just inside of where I live in the Dominican Republic (at least when the power is on)🤨. I have a reason to be out anytime I am asked to be after curfew. I can tell you about lighting at night on the streets where I have driven. I just can’t tell you about Winston Churchill since I have not have the opportunity to go there and look for myself. If I get a chance to I will let you know.

Did I mention that I understand that DR1 is a diverse community? Do you understand this also? Diverse means people who are not going to agree with you. And they are going to write things that you do not like. How you choose to handle this is your choice. I prefer to stick with ideas and avoid personal attacks. That does not mean that I will not take the opportunity to respond to someone constantly making them against me. I see you taking issue with me on many points across many different threads. That could be perceived as trolling. Or it could be perceived as diverse community members disagreeing. When it is about ideas that is fine. Once it gets personal (and I do not know why that would happen with any of our diverse community of people posting here on DR1) in my opinion that is just not right. Someone wrote that the ignore function works very well.

Who among us in this diverse community does not enjoy date night?💃🕺 Bachata anyone?

The same can be said for the entire world.
It can also be said that if you do not reside within immediate traveling distance of a locale, no, you would not know.
I am not a fan of Santo Domingo. I try to avoid it as much as possible. I find the overcrowding, and mass of humanity to be a bit much. I have never been a fan of large urban areas. Even when I travel internationally on conference, I try to stay away from the large sprawling cities, and only enter to conduct my business, and then retire to other parts to enjoy life.
Again, I am interested in the lighting concepts because money has been previously earmarked for the purchase and installation of these same lighting modules in municipalities throughout the entire nation.

Thank you for the image provided.
We can only hope this carries on throughout the other municipalities where this money was previously allocated.
There are/were purchase orders. If no results, hopefully those PLD members are prosecuted.

Do you follow David Collado on any social media? While he was mayor of Santo Domingo he completed extensive lighting projects all over the city and did renovations on dozens of neglected areas.

I know he'll do great in Tourism but I sure wish they would have stuck him in Public Works.

Yes I do, and yes again you are absolutely correct regarding the Public Works position. I believe he was placed in Tourism so as not to ruffle to many feathers at once. He is definitely a "doer". I would have him on my team at a moment's notice. No questions asked.
The Santo Domingo lighting is not my issue.....albeit a priority for those there. After all, it is la Capital.
These economic lighting systems have been promised nation wide.
