I went by Long Beach today also, to see if I could find anyone who knew of anyone who had been rehoused in a barrio prepared for the Long Beach residents. No luck! Got some novel responses to my questions though, regrettably most of them unprintable.......
And although everything on the sea front side of Long Beach has been razed to the ground, NOT everything on the whole block has been. If you go round the corner into Hermanas Mirabal street, just past where the Massage Centre used to be, the house numbered 56 is still standing. It is a concrete structure, is inhabited & even has a car in the side entrance yard. The restaurant next door is still standing as well. Apart from these 2 buildings there are some lean-to structures at the Crystal end of the block - these only cover vehicles.
I was unable to locate anyone who has received any compensation from a business demolished either. Maybe next week..............?
