This is the company that Diary owns. I do not recommend them. She claimed some damage on a car I rented from her in Cabarete that was there before I had the car. Also the car broke down in SD, I fixed it and she refused to pay.

STAY AWAY.

This is obviously the owner or employee spamming.
I would take this post with a pinch of salt.

This is not the way to handle negative feedback, especially on a message board that is viewed by thousands of people every day.

life in the western wold is getting so complicated and expensive ,like in the USA simplifying your life is getting harder every year,So the developing countries are making it easier to relocated in the DR or other similar countries
The next 20 years we will see a big change in the way we live our life in the Usa,and that adjustment will cost alot of people their saving and much more,if you are in your midlife 'who can wait 20 years to start over again?
In those days some one should be content with:family or girlfirens companion.basic food and drink(water could be enough),health and beautiful scenerie to look at, like the DR.
Danger and insecurity are every where in the wolrd and the idea of having a beautiful house in the midle of "DineyWorld" is quit boring so put a little excitment in your life and live a lttle. So my friends get out of that appartment and come down there,Maybe our path will cross over there.
Good luck with your car,if you are interrested i could find you a "dunki"to ride and no insurance is needed!ha!ha!ha!

I know a guy in Jarabacoa who rents Mitsubishi Montero in Jarabacoa. He supervises wood work on hotel Monta?a there}, so his boss foots the bill. He rents from a local agency there.

He pays about 1,000 dollars a month. He is not responsible for any mechanical failures, the local agency has to take care of that. But he is responsible to the full extent for any collision damage, regardless of how little it is.

He was recently hit by a motorbike on a rear bumper. The repair cost would not have been more than 5,000 pesos at the most, but he (actually his boss) was hit with a 10,000 pesos invoice the rental agency charged for the job.

So, listen to the advice. Small agencies do NOT give you any insurance protection, you are fully responsible.

Private Car Rental??

Hi, I tried to create a new thread but for some reason it won't let me so this seems like the most relevant thread to post on.

My husband, baby and I are temporarily living in Santo Domingo and are looking to get a car. We looked into buying one but it's ridiculously expensive for what you get and we're really not here long enough to justify it. We looked into long term rentals and again it's very expensive.

What we are looking for is someone who has a spare car and would be willing to rent it to us on a monthly basis. They could put us on their insurance and we would look after the car as if it were our own. It doesn't have to be amazing or new. Just safe enough for a toddler and reliable. We could draw up a contract etc.

If anyone's interested please PM me.
