Hola DR1'ers. Found some great info on this forum. I'm heading to the DR in March with a buddy and was hoping to get some suggestions on 2 bedroom condos in Sosua and Cabarate. Planning on spending 2 - 3 nights in each location. Not looking to break the bank ($100/night or so), but something walking distance to the action, safe and no issues with guests. I was looking into Rocky's condos, but it looks like those are all 1 BR units.

Any suggestions would be appreciated...

I understand you could get a two or three bedroom for about 100 at Royal Residence (Cabarete). I believe they don't have maid service though. Other than that, all the other apartments/condos I know of are over 100. Check this site if you're interested in renting from the owner of this apartment at Royal Residence Royal Residence Cabarete

Leaning towards Hotel Alegria in Cabarete...looks like they have a 2br apartment available. Still looking for suggestions in Sosua. Have seen all of the recommended hotels, but doesn't look like any have 2 BR units. Not the end of the world, but would be cool if we could find one.

Thanks again for any suggestions.

I don't want to steer you off Alegria (my husband owns it), but have you checked Magnifico? Just to give you options. The thing is that it is very difficult to find a 2-bedroom for less than 100 a night (even our daily rate is more than that in high season). If you were to stay for longer than 3 nights, you may be able to get a discount, but it is tough with a short stay.

Sorry...should have been more clear that $100 per night isn't a definite limit. I'm just about to send a deposit to your hotel :cheeky:

I stayed in Cabarete for the first time last February. I rented a condo through www.oceandreamcabarete.com. It's a bit more expensive that $100 per night for a 2 bedroom but I think that it is well worth it. I actually returned twice after my first visit and rented through the same company each time. It's a short walking distance to everything (pool, beach, restaurants, night life) and very clean. I highly recommend it.
