That is true, if your car is downhill and if you put it in neutral it will go up by it self.

I believe it's an optical illusion...

...but even so, very interesting.

It is true and it's fantastic to see,
We where there in 1996 and we did like Juan said, our car was rolling up forwards and backwards with nobody in it.
it is a great experience so se and we took it on video for at home.
if you are there, go and see it by yourself.
have a nice day,
Henry

Problem is,Your car is downhill from where you are headed, but the hill you "climb" is actually lower than your IP. There is a similar area in Edmuston NB (Canada) where you can view the same properly landscaped illusion

In short, you may "thing you are going up hill, but I took a watch with a altimiter and you are actually reaching a lower altitude as you appear to "go up"

Polo Magnetico

Chris,

yes, it is an optical illusion, but funny to see. If you are in the area you should go there.

The reason behind it is that the road prior and after the "Polo" is going up the hill at a steep angle. At the "Polo" it only rises at a small angle, which makes it appear to go down, not up.

Re: Polo Magnetico

You won't be disappointed.. It's a lot of fun.. Especially if you bring the locals..they LOVE to bring the foreigners there and watch their reactions. We were in a pickup truck with about 30 people in it and it slowly went "UP" the hill! :)

Suprised that you said "Cachon" most people drive past that town, blink and never have seen it! That's where my hubby is from.. I love Cachon :)
