Science existed before humans. I suppose you will say next that science didn't exist before humans, but you will concede that stardust and gravitational constant existed before humans, thereby being saying P can equal non P, but only if P doesn't equal P.

Tell ya what....when you atheists can get on the same page I'll argue more with you. But I have proved my point. You cannot prove you are an atheist, and you are digging yourself a deeper hole.

You cannot prove god exist anymore than you can prove that vampires do not exist.

For the love of your god...learn how to think logically.

Let's try this again Big Dan:

The Definition of Atheism:

Atheism: The belief that...No! Stop right there! Atheism is a lack of a belief in any ideology or deities. It is not a "belief system." You don't call a disbelief in Vampires, Santa Claus, or the Tooth Ferry a "Belief system" do you? you don't go around telling people, "It takes faith not to believe in Vampires, Santa Claus, or the Tooth Ferry." Atheism is not a claim...it is a rejection of a claim. Do you go around trying to prove that Vampires and the Tooth Ferry do not exist? Of course not. There is simply no good reason to think that they do. All intelligent adults know that any unsubstantiated belief is irrational.

Actually, I am right on the Mark! I have one atheist who conceded in immaterial existence and conditions, one atheist who says logic didn't exist before humans invented it (so therefore perhaps nothing existed except stardust and gravitational pull, which has an odd resemblance to the first few verses of Genisis LOL), and you, an atheist who talks about vampires.

You people are all over the map!:laugh:

The bible says an ultimate sin is to deny God when you know of God. I know of God. If I believed in God I would not deny this as I know the consequences. I do not beleive in any creator as described in any religion to which I have ever been exposed. Therefore I am an atheist, unless you think I would make a false claim and damn my soul for the sake of a forum post.

This is most proof that is possible and would satisfy anyone who is sincere in the question. It would not satisfy someone that is out to make a point and would deny 2+2=4 if it called into question their beliefs.

There is no God.

Happy?

That doesn't prove anything! What it does say is that you have been provided evidence and rejected it. That doesn't mean that you are an atheist. You admit you know of God.

Anyway, thanks for playing, and Happy Thanksgiving, non-believers! LOL!

Willful self-delusion, always great for a laugh.

Technically he said nobody could prove to him they were an atheist but he did finish off his last message by calling us non-believers.. I am going to count that as admitting defeat because it is as close as I think it is ever going to get.

Happy holidays all!

I would truly like to know what page you are on, because the book you have is Greek to me.

By the way, how can I prove to you that I am indeed an atheist?

Let's start at the beginning as best as it can be described today based upon real, hard evidence:

In the beginning there was the big bang. From a point source of practically infinite density, the universe expanded and continues to expand today. The cosmological constant for our universe allowed the expansion to proceed at a rate that stars and planets formed and life developed and evolved on earth. Science and nothing else was at work. It would be convenient to think something "designed" this procedure. There is absolutely no evidence that there was a design involved.

It took humans, however, to come up with the word to call it science. If there is intelligent life on other planets, they probably call it something else.

And still waiting to hear what would prove I am an atheist.

You are a wiley one Chiri, but you can't have your cake and eat it too darlin'.

You claim us "God believers" are illogical because we clearly can't see the "logic" of evolution yet your premise that this "idea" of morality has evolved over billions of years has a hole in it the side of a barn given that while we are 99%+ similar to some lower animals we are light years ahead as far as having a concept of right and wrong, notwithstanding it's many variations.

Furthermore, you incessantly infer we "God believers" are irrational because we believe in a being that is unknown to you yet have opined hundreds of times about issues of right and wrong on this forum while at the same time insinuating that the whole notion of the latter concept is really just folly - so that would make you about as irrational as they come. :)

Please show me where I said the idea of morality has evolved over "billions of years."

Please show me where you think I insinuate that the concept of "wrong" is folly. I'm not responsible for your (mis) interpretation or for your reluctance to accept that a person can be moral or have a sense of right and wrong without professing belief in a god.

Blimey Chip - and then you accuse people of twisting your words!

A dear friend of mine is a devout Catholic. But he's funny, too.

I tell him he's a fun guy. He usually replies, "I know, but why do I have to be plural?"

Big Bang is still considered a theory. What came before the big bang?
