You start your day with yoga by the sand. Then it’s a choice: beach cabana? Infinity pool? Maybe a trip to the food hall. There’s even a speakeasy. This is Marriott’s new “unscripted” all-inclusive, and it’s the most anticipated new resort in Punta Cana: the first-ever W all-inclusive.

The new Punta Cana resort (it’s set in Uvero Alto), which opens its doors in June, is a very different kind of all-inclusive option in Punta Cana: it’s an energetic, adults-only, dare we say hip all-inclusive, with all of the things you love about the W brand shaped into an all-inclusive format.

Another resort opening PC?
It feels like I'm reading announcements two or three times a month about new resorts opening on that side of island. Are there not enough rooms in PC already?

Yep, another one.

Actually, there's plenty of space for more rooms to make Punta Cana the Vegas of the Caribbean.

But the success of the last PGA tour plus more major congress events in the near future (the Olympic Comitee in '27, the Nadal Tennis Center, and some other future congress) is becoming more attractive for AI hotels to invest more and more in infrastructure for major global events.

I am waiting to see if they will do a remodel on the Occidental Caribe (former Barcelo Punta Cana). That resort has one of the best layouts of all the resorts in Punta Cana. One of the very few that are U shaped, almost all the rooms are ocean front views. Perfect size, easy to get around. Years ago, this used to be our go to resort when bringing the kids. Good price and was clean, great when going for a quick weekend trip with all the kids. Unfortunately, it desperately needs an upgrade.
