Next time I drive that stretch...
I'll look for place where you could drive into the sea easily.

Off the top my head... I don't remember the sea being at all close to the road.
Always several meters.... a distance

Fishy.... IMO

Accidents have an uncanny way of doing what was previously thought impossible.

When I made that statement - we had not yet figured out that they went west...before reversing to eastward.

The stretch from the toll road to SDQ is quite dense with trees, etc....
Further west... lost of open space and closer to the sea.

Apparently - if I read it right- the place of the accident is notorious for vehicles going swimming

I don't know if it is or not, but that's the exact same place I spotted. You can see the wave action and cliffs there just like in the videos. Also, it's right across from the vencidario where the fisherman lived.that was mentioned in one of articles.

Wait - back up....

My original comment was specific to #7 and EAST

In fact, the accident was west of #7.... my comment does NOT pertain

the area of the accident has numerous points to leave the highway and go swimming.

Hitting a tree?
Remember ---- there was just some bark scraped off the tree
it wasn't dislodged or knocked over.... a glancing/slight blow

Then it is west of Hwy 7

You can copy and paste CB's coordinates into Google Earth search bar and see where it is. It's west of Hwy 7.

The spot bb post is also west of Hwy 7, just not as far. I think I confused CB's spot with the one bb posted. They look similar.

I think the one bb posted is more likely as it is at km19.

Orlando-Moore-Portia-Ravenelle.jpg

A family friend and her boyfriend that have gone missing in DR. Their names are Portia Ravenelle and Orlando Moore. They were staying at the Grand Bahia Principe, Cayacoa, Samana.

They were due to board a late night flight on March 26. They never boarded their flight. The rental car that was used was never returned. Their cell phones are answering straight to voicemail.

If you have any information please notify local authorities.

Any updates??? This is terrible!

the family of the guy is going to have another post mortem performed:
https://www.diariolibre.com/actuali...ana-dice-le-haran-segunda-autopsia-BE12617547

Oh well, the family does not believe the DR investigation.

Here is one of the comments from the GoFundMe page.

I'm so sorry this is wrong they make the family pay to send the bodies back aren't the family dealing with enough they also had plane tickets to go back to the US so a my eyes they already paid to go back so why is a family not having to come up with this much money to get their loved ones back it's complete and just strong

Do I understand this to mean the deceased should have been able to use their coach seats on Spirit airlines since they were already paid for? What about the change fee?

Can massive amounts of alcohol still be detected in an autopsy after this much time?

think you would need to autopsy the fish. he should have been pretty well washed out after that long.
