Moby Dick's
Not sure about the plans yet but the owner has a sales contract with someone and has been paid a deposit. The owner was obligated to renovate it and that is what he is in the process of doing. It is great to see that there is something happening after all this time...it has been quite an eyesore!! There is quite a lot of construction going on in this area...just after the offices of Amber Guardian they are constructing a small hotel...a little further down the road on the left hand side, (opposite the small supermercado) they hace completely renovated the condos a built a swimming pool and now the large hotel just after this has recently been sold and they are completely renovating it.....there is talk of a very famous US restaurant/bar chain opening up where the previous restaurant was, (I have been told what bar/restaurant it will be but I do not like to start rumours). A lot of stuff going on around Sosua...
Hooters. It's OK to say Hooters. It's a rumor at this point isn't it, so what. Little orange shorts, tightly stretched white tank top, "Hi, my name is Mariella and I'll be serving you tonight, and no, you cannot have my phone number".

Anywho, I'm not excited about seeing franchises in Sosua, even if it is a Hooters. I like it just the way it is.
Moby Dick's about 22 years ago was the number one Disco in Sosua so many ladys and the music and danceing was so great. I would go there and fine the most beautiful ladys there and dance all night. I sure hope they make another Disco there, it's so big inside. I miss my old friend the black dog who would hang on the sidewalk in front of Moby Dick's, I would feed him everyday when I was there. I would come out of a Disco at 4 or 5 in the morning and he would be there walking Sosua street. He was Sosua dog number one.
It was good to see that finally someone was doing something to the place. I never understood how real estate like that could sit dormant for so long...
Hooters in Sosua? That's funny... I guess their slogan would be "Come see the world-famous Hooters girls, even though you could spend the night with any other waitress in Sosua for $40.. No seriously, our wings really are that good."

I was trying to think of an analogy - but the situation is so dripping with irony that I can't.

I hope they don't put a Hooter's spot in Sosua... Hooter's sucks in the States and there is no need to spread these trashy restaurant elsewhere.
The rumoured "Hooter's" style establishment is being built in the large hotel beween Orchidee and Casa Valeria, not in Moby Dick.
I watched England beat Germany 5-1 in a Hooter's bar - so I like the place.
