Has anyone been to Monkey Land? Where do they get the monkeys from? I got a text from some friends who were asking about Monkey Land. I know very little about it other than the name. Excursions are not my thing, so I am no help to friends when they ask for suggestions.

I looked it up. It's in Puerta Plata. I've never been but it looks like fun. I will say that I've been on 3 different excursion either in PP or PC and enjoyed all 3.

From the pictures on the Viator website, it looks like some interaction with the monkees. It reminds me of Gatorland in Orlando. There was a bird house and if you bought nectar, you could feed them forever. I took my oldest who was 8 or 9 back then, and it was a blast!

It is supposedly in the Punta Cana area, as friends are staying at the Hyatt Cap Cana. I have already told them it does not sound like something they would enjoy. I am not sure about interacting with "squirrel monkeys".

Punta Cana Monkeyland Tour

Have a one-of-a-kind adventure on the Dominican Republic with a guided tour of Monkeyland, with time to interact with our beautiful and playful squirrel monkeys, as well as a cultural tour of the Dominican way of life.

I did go on one some years ago, it was a cocoa/coffee tour. It was nice but I am not a tour person. I like to see what I want to see and go.
