Moped Racing On North Coast
I have seen a guy ride a moto 100mph+ and use the front brake to pull the back wheel up and instantly releasing the brake to "ride" on momentum, done around the old air base in Santiago.
He use the same style of a normal real wheel-up stop, but only used the change of point of gravity to lift it and as I said, releasing it instantly to let the moto continue on the road.
I would say the loss of velocity is very, very, minimal when the guy that does it is good at it.
On the other hand, the guy that was doing this "stunt" back then (some 3 years back, if memory serves me right), got killed by a semi in the stretch of Duarte right after HOMS and before the airport. He was doing a wheelie at the time and was unable to fully stop after the patana's breaks locked. He clipped the bed and that was it...
That's the only time I have seen such thing done in a moto, in my entire life!

There were lots of them back in their days... It was the vehicle of choice for bread merchants and was easy to jack a box on the rear. They fell real quick in popularity and use due to two things: The look and power, and the style of the new Japanese scooters.
If you rode a Moped, it was considered out of the times here...
The most popular at the end of their run here was the "Len" model.
A moped in modern money has pretty much widened it's scope, I label any step through more or less a moped, with exceptions.
The smaller the bike the more difficult stop pies are to control in my experience. I think as much to do with your positioning as anything else. On a small bike you're more upright and so top heavy which ultimately makes balance more tricky, momentum much much less than if you've got a nice bit of meat moving you along, not to mention break control which is not very good on your average small runaround.
I personally prefer a conventional wheely any day, if you persist to pull stoppies you are going to drop your bike, a lot, no matter how good you are.

I have something much better that i might be willing to get rid of: 2008 550FS Husaberg--the most HP to weight ratio single cylinder bike made. $14,000 U.S new at KTM in Santo Domingo. It's not cheap but, i can gurantee that no other single cylnder on this island is faster.
It's 550cc of pure unadulterated madness. 55HP on a 110 kilo bike. front end comes up in all 6 gears. go online and read some reviews. i got the only one on the island.
