Most Beautiful Beach in DR: Playa Fronton
So in one of your pics in photobucket I see a couple of pasolas, but you said you could only get there by boat or hiking?
Oh yeah...i recommend that you do not try to get to Boca de Diablo by scooter!! I only did it to prove to a friend that i could drive from Cabarete to Las Galeras and back on one tank of gas--averaging 85MPG. I've also driven the same scooter to Santiago, Bonao, Las Terrenas, Samana, Santo Domingo, and next i want to drive it to Punta Cana and back...just to see what kind of gas mileage i can get and to say that i did it.
I'm crazy like that.
PS. my Yamaha Zuma 125cc scooter is only 17 months old and has 16,000km on it, but i was in Norway working for 4 months this summer; it sat parked here in Cabarete.

I really, really recommend the hike...it's stunning!!!
what you could do is leave your car parked at one of the hotels in nearby Las Galeras, and then take a taxi to Boca De Diablo--only about a 20min ride. have him drop you off and then arrange for him to pick you up at a certain time, or arrange for one of the boats in Las Galeras to come and get you at a certain time on the beach. Take plenty of drinking water with you regardless which route you choose.

To save from getting ripped off, i would just take a couple of coolers with you--filled with food and drinks. but, on one occasion when i was there on the weekend, there was a shack on the far end of the beach with 2 men and a woman cooking food for any tourists that may show up. we ordered a lot of fish and chicken and it was good! They also had beer and water.

Let me just add that, if you want to see the caves, the amazing fauna, wild flowers, and mammoth rocks, you will only see that from the walk from Boca de Diablo to Playa Fronton. those caves and amazing rock structures and fauna are during the 50 to 60 minute walk to the beach along a trail that snakes along the coast.

Fairly remote locations and hard to get to, those are the things that are saving beaches like Playa Rincon and Fronton from being developed.
Unfortunately, I heard that in the not too distant future, Rincon will be developed, destroying the natural and pristene scenery of the site.
Never been to Fronton, but I've been to Rincon twice: first, by road (a nightmare), and second by boat from Las Galeras. Taking the boat is the cheaper, smoother, quicker way to go!!!!!!!
Rincon has my vote for the nicest beach I've been to in the DR.

You need to see the beach @ El Valle, if you think Rincon is nice, and it is better accessible than either.
Is the trail easy to find and follow ? I was there with a diveboat from Las Galleras but would love to go there by my own.
Yes, it's the only trail available as you reach the end of the road at Boca de Diablo. The trail runs along the coast in-between those 100 foot cliff right out of Jurassic Park and the ocean, so there is absolutely no way to stray from the trial--one the right side is the ocean, and on the left is these towering "Lord of the Rings" cliffs.

What types of defensive weapons are required for the trip?
There are no people along the trail; you would be lucky if you saw more than one group of people during your hike from Boca De Diablo to Playa Fronton. It's a 50 to 60 minute walk in-between cliffs and ocean.
Bring these defensive weapons.
1. Beautiful girl.
