Expensive ?? Last time I checked it is free for my children. And being US and French, it gives them the freedom to move back easily in France (or almost in any place in the EU), or ,since I won't pay for the University study , they can always go study in France for free.

This, however, could be a special case because he's Julio Iglesias or maybe its more general. The point is that it's possible to have more than 2 and have one of the three be Dominican. Any problems with this will arise because of what some other country is willing to allow, not from the DR side.
