NC Lawyer for residency for my Haitian freind

He did the regularization last year, was all good, and got the stamp in his passport. Since then, he has tried to jump through all the hoops to get residency. He's tried lawyers, but they just take his money.

When he goes to Santo Domingo he gets told that he's "not on the list". Now he is worried because people are getting deported.

Is there any updates on the process for the people that did the regularization last year? Any good lawyers I could point him to that wont just rob him?

in my opinion he'd be wasting his money. at least for now.

the first stage of plan de regularizacion expires on the 17th of july (next monday). tomorrow there is a meeting of consejo nacional de migracion, maybe some more info will be made available later this week or next week.

some pople reported that they were able to obtain cedulas with the plan but not residency cards.

i think it's probably wisest to wait and see what happens next.

Yea, that is what I was thinking. Either wait, or just have him re-apply the normal way.
