Need to borrow a recovery collar for a largish dog

My dog had surgery today and the Vet initially said they had a recovery collar I could use. turns out they were mistaken and now I have to find a collar to keep my dog from licking the stitches to shreds. Anyone somewhat close to Sosua have something I can borrow or buy? What's available for sale locally that I have been able to find doesn't meet our needs. It will take too long to order a new collar from Amazon.

Thx.

Is Judy still around? I know Dr. Bob passed away but Judy might still be operating her kennel. She would likely be able to help.

Thanks Sky, I checked with Judy but someone has walked off with all the cones she used to have stockpiled.

I have a cone and collar you can borrow. I'm in Sosua. We can meet tomorrow morning if you want. Let me know.

Thanks. for the time being the dog seems to be leaving the surgery site alone. I'll be in touch if that changes. I know what a cone is and do not really want one as my house has steep curved stairs that would be dangerous for a dog in a cone to safely navigate. What sort of collar are you referring to? One that allows unrestricted vision and doesn't get caught on objects as the dog passes by but limits the ability of the head to reach the hind quarters?

What a beautiful fellow. German shepherds are the king of dogs
Not my dog just a picture of an idea to accomplish the objective that I came across. Provided one can find a pool noodle, making this seems pretty easy and cheap.

The collar is to keep the cone tied to the dog's neck. My dog hated the cone. I had borrowed a blow-up type of cone that was much better.

I agree something like that would be better. If I need something, looks like I will have to make one or improvise. Thank you for your kind offer of help though.
