Just entered yesterday with a group- We had to fill out all the normal paperwork, in SDQ they did not even accept or do anything with the QR code. However when we left DC AA was requiring it to print out boarding passes.
The E-Ticket (and no more paper documents) requirement was delayed until February 1, 2021.

FWIW.. Has anyone considered the possibility that once you generate the form, the Gov't has the statistical information they need?
How many persons generate the QR code and don't fly?

Hey, I have only been here for 17 years, what do I know? I post information found in news stories printed in DR newspapers and government web sites. But I guess that is grapevine BS to some.

One hand of the government not knowing what the other is doing is common while both hands make excuses every step of the way while stating one thing and doing another at the end of the day.

Things are changing, and CV19 has been a preoccupation to enabling some changes, aside from a general lack of competence and execution in government as everyone changes jobs after 16 years. Going live with the E-TIcket is just one more example of how things are intended to work versus reality. Maybe by February 1 it will all be worked out.
The amount of time spent in one local is not important. What is important is information that has credibility.
I know you cut and paste a good deal. That fine if it makes you happen. You do opine a great deal that that's fine also. Wht's troublesome to me with many many posts here on DR1 is the unsubstantiated reporting which I call BS. Ex; "My source says..." "Rumor has it". You know, that kind of BS. Thats' a waste of time and most times is misleading.
Critical thinking and LOGIC trumps all.

I would assume very few. How many people have confirmed flights, fill out the form with flight numbers, dates etc. and then miss their flights? BTW what is "statistical information" other than your birthdate which is on your passport? And how may they use this information? Everything anyone needs to know about your travel is contained in the pages of your passport. And lastly, I walked away with the form and threw it away yesterday. Nobody scanned it or used it.

However when we left DC AA was requiring it to print out boarding passes.

This is exactly my point. Airlines will require you to show the QR code to be accepted onto a flight. If you can't produce it by the check-in deadline, you will be denied boarding and you won't get a refund. It works exactly the same way if you fly from the UK to the US, no ESTA, no travel, no refund. No I'm not scaremongering. It's clear that airlines are already implementing this rule.

All your posts just say the same thing: "I'm right, you're wrong, shut up". It's a new procedure implemented by a new government. Past experience and your own personal experience are factors, but things do change and it is interesting to hear other people's opinions and experiences - that's why most of us come on here.

Cutting and pasting from the news and government web sites is something I do, cannot dispute that.
It is the best information source there is here in the DR for what the government is up to.

When I state something that is an opinion, I try to mention that clearly. Perhaps your confirmation bias makes you think differently?

It is not an opinion that the DR government wants to replace all current paper forms with an E-Ticket on line version and QR code to prove you filled it out.

In my opinion, TropicalPaul , you got that right about this kind of posting below, I attempt not to post rumors, but rather articles from DR newspapers and government sourced documents (which can be in error like the recent farmacia poster) , but some still call those rumors to which I call nonsense. I guess cutting and pasting news does not make people like this happy. Where is the critical thinking in that? Critical thinking actually generates opinions, does it not? At least on occasions like the post below.

Needing to be scanned by immigration may put an upper and lower size limited on any printout someone opts to bring with them instead of having a scale-able QR code on a device. I like everyone else am just waiting to see how all this is going to work come January. What format is acceptable, What happens to those who don't have a QR code, if the website will continue to work or maybe get better and operate more reliably etc.
We have portable scanners, as long as you have the QR code either on your phone (pdf file or a picture of it) or printed, our scanners will be able to read it.

There was not one solitary agent there that seemed to be concerned or bothered by all these new rules and regs. Personally, I think we on DR1 are overthinking "new rules, laws and regulation." There wasn't one sign at the airport asking that you do this, that or the other thing that I noticed. I saw one large sign that I think was new and that was a sign prohibiting cameras, and photos in the security checkpoint area.
This is all quite new. kiosks are still being made for ease of access at all airports, signs, education campaigns, etc. The program is up and running right now and if you carry your e-ticket you can show it at customs and we will scan that instead of the blue form, most travelers have been filling the blue form in adition to the e-ticket, if you show the blue form we assume you didn't fill your e-ticket. This will all change (as annouced) at the end of january when the e-ticket will be mandatory.

TO ALL - We're aware of some issues with the e-ticet forms, I have personally forwarded some of your concerns and complains on this thread to the developers, this form was designed and is ran by Migration, I'm at Customs (POP airport), migration answered, they're aware of these issues and are working on fixing all of them so that the e-ticket is what it was ment to be; a tool to make traveling a lot easier, faster and safer specially among this pandemic.

Thanks for reporting any errors, even though e-ticket was not developed by customs, we are a part of it, and aim to make it a success.

Amazing, thanks for your posts these are really helpful and it's great to know that someone is listening to our feedback. I for one think the new system will be excellent, the lady I helped recently was quite elderly and really appreciated not having to fill in forms at the airport or on an aircraft.

Guess you’re bothered by my dislike of “rumors “ post. When did I say ”I’m right you’re wrong” up
To this moment. Sorry you’re upset.

Well I guess we will find out tomorrow if they do anything to airports. I'm not upset at all, I just think that you need to get the idea that this is a forum, the idea is to share information and opinions. You seem to blast people who don't agree with you and maybe it would be easier if you realise that the whole point of coming on here is to hear different opinions, listen to the rumors, exchange information some right some wrong.

The passport error at least for me seems to be linked to spaces between the letters and numbers and the total number of characters. The field seems to be expecting a specific number of letters/numbers in a set format.
