Spokeswoman for the nurses at the Marcelino Velez public hospital in Santo Domingo gave the Ministry of Public Health 72 hours to provide adequate protective gear to the health care workers. The nurses complain they are given one set of protective gear for an entire day of work. They say this puts other patients and themselves at risk.
The protest came when the Edesur published a tender for RD $ 57 million in face masks for its staff.
