Ocean Sands Estate Casino???

Ocean World Casino - Ocean Sands Casino
These are two different casinos -Ocean Sands is just east of the center
of town in Cabarete, small but very nice, they had just opened when I
was there last Feb.
Ocean World is brand new and the nicest casino in the DR at this point.
It's located in Cofresi.

i was there last week
I just got back from cabarete last week and we used to go to the Ocean Sands casino almost everynight.
We didnt partake in any gambling but instead went to the disco upstairs. If you go early (10pm-12am) its dead, but we used to go after all the other bars/discos finished at 1/2am and everybody would head to the casino to party till 5am!
Good mix of locals and tourists, drinks reasonable, very nice decor (toilet some of the best I've ever seen! - very important to a woman), and the music is a good mix of euro/american & dominican.

Hoping to visit Ocean Sands Casino this Saturday with a small group of friends - will be sure to let everyone know all about it.
Just have read some recent posts from folks that told me they were never offered a free cocktail and had to pay for return trip to resort/hotel.
I had been told by both Breezes and the owner of the casino that transportation is included BOTH WAYS. We will see and will bring copy of emails - - - JUST IN CASE!!!
More than 1/2 my group likes to gamble (myself included) and will visit OW casino at least once (free RT transportation as well) - but Ocean Sands is only a 10 minute ride from resort.
are they any other casinos that close to Breezes??? Breezes still has "Under renovation" signs up at casino - but no visible signs of anyone working there for weeks........

Playa Chiquita Casino in Sosua...even closer than Ocean Sands... a little bigger, but not as lively. Also Jack Tar Casino in Playa Dorado.
David - thanks again for the information. Is Jack Tar Casino in Playa Dorado within a 10 minute drive of Breezes? I think I will do some research and see what time they open etc.....

It's Playa DoradA, with an A. Sorry to be picky. Playa Dorada is about 20 minutes by cab/car from Breezes. Playa Chiguita is much, much closer, as is the Cabarete casino. DZ has mentioned before that if you want fluff, Playa Chiquita is a little tired, but gambling is gambling. I'd go to that one, or the flash of Ocean Sands, which is much more HOT.....one man's opinion.
It's the only Casino in Cabarete. It opens from 8pm to 4am. The next closest Casino is at Breezes and Breezes will be closed for a few months.
