We are not quite here yet, but will be by Hurricane season. I have lived in the NE US though and have some experience. A couple of things to add to the list.
A good supply of any medicines that you are taking
Fist aid stuff as suggested by HB and antibiotics
Tune up and have gas and oil for your chain saw if you have one. If you don't and have large trees on your property or on the road out maybe think of getting one.
Propane or gas (coleman type) lanterns
A cool head and a good sense of humor.
