I had a bicep rupture and reattached two weeks before the Bucs only Super Bowl appearance. A soft cast for six weeks and two months of rehab. No fun but all is well now.

I looked for an ortho surgeon for shoulder last year. Did not find anyone in POP or Santiago. I did find someone in SD and he comes to a hospital in La Vega 1 or 2 days a week (centro-medico Padre Fantino).
He seemed to be a bit better than the others but as CCCCCCCC told me, "why dont you get your surgery done by real doctors".

So in case you want to try him:
Dr Luis Gomez Infante 809-573-2533 ext 414.

I ended up getting my shoulder replaced and rotator cuff repaired in Canada. 4 weeks shoulder immobilized and 3 months physio is forecasted.

There is a shoulder specialist at Union Medica in Santiago, Dr. Marcos Martinez, Torre B #728.

He did his residency in NJ and Atlanta and speaks excellent English. I'm not sure his receptionist does.

I got a second opinion from him and am satisfied with his advice. No surgery for me!
