On the occasion of the closing of the celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month, the US Embassy presented Silvestre Del Rosario, the first Dominican to hold the position of chief inspector of the US Marshals Service, as reported in Diario Libre.

Silvestre del Rosario is a second-generation Dominican who is today the chief inspector of the US Marshals Service at the US Embassy in the Dominican Republic. “English was his first language, but mangú was his first breakfast,” was the phrase with which the US Embassy introduced the video profiling Del Rosario.

Del Rosario was born in the United States, the son of Dominican migrants who migrated to New York when they were just teenagers.

In the short video, Del Rosario says he is proud of his roots and that, as a child, when he visited his relatives he dreamed of returning and representing the US in the country...
