Thanks for the reply. So how do they determine that the child is accompanied by both the biological parents at the time of exit?
It appears that the parents need to bring the Birth Certificate of the child along with their passports to confirm this. Does Immigration at the airport have the ability to see exactly who are the two biological parents with only the child's DR Passport?
The first time we left the country (me with EU passport, our son and my wife with DR passport and Schengen Visa), the check-in official asked us if we had this permission. I told him to look at the names in the passports, he did so, got embarrassed and quickly processed our boarding passes and directed us to the security control.
That being said, always when we travel, we have actually had all the documents (birth certificate of both my wife and our son, legalized, marriage certificate, legalized) in originals with us, to avoid any problems, but we have only ever been asked for this on the EU-border, never in the DR.
The last time we left via POP, me and my son traveled with EU passports and my wife with her DR passport and EU residency card, and at that point, in front of us, they needed to pass our son?s passport via this machine, to somehow validate it, as it was a foreign passport of a Dominican citizen, exiting with the passport first time. They told us that we not need to do that again, as now that passport number is validated in their systems.
