Playa Dorada Update

Back in 2021, I asked for help to locate a friend from a close resort. I am asking that same question again, along with a couple of new ones. So, does anyone have any contact information for Davdi Sanchez? How about Fermin Tate? Nest, is there any news regarding the hotel Fun Royale-Fun Tropicale in Playa Dorada? It was closed in 2011, but supposedly is being remodeled. Any help appreciated.

That hotel closed a lot of years ago. So it has to has a new name. Where was it located in Playa Dorada?
For the rest: most hotels in playa dorada closed and are now private. The only hotels that are still open in playa dorada and are still hotels are:
All in:
Blue Bay
Gran Ventana
Emotions
Viva Windham

Not all in:
Casa Colonial

The ones who are privat condos:
Blue Jactar
Riviera Azul
San Marino
Green One (former Puerto Plata Village)
Gran Paradise
Sunscape

And then yo have VH Atmosphere, the only one I don't know if they are open or not, I think they are closed, but I don't think they changed to private condos

Just another example of a a mispelled name here in the DR that stuck, but does make it easier to find somone with such a name. I hope the OP finds what they are looking for. MIght be better suited for a search on FB/X, etc..

That was the first and only AI hotel in the DR I've stayed in, on the the trip I met my wife back in 2009. It was in a terrible condition already back then. I still recall being in my room, the A/C dripping water all over the place and thinking that I want to leave this country immediately. I hated every minute in that place. Glad to hear it's no longer there. If I recall correctly, it was located near the east entrance of the complex.

The OP made a mistake when he wrote his post. The man's name is David.

The OP has been looking for David now for over 20 years. Wishful thinking.

Correct about the location. I passed by it many times on my morning run. Some of the staff transferred to Puerto Plata Village. Angelica Brito and Lucy Brito, two sisters, set up an office in the lobby of POP Village to assist RCI members, including those from the closed Fun Royale-Fun Tropical.
