Why would I be kidding or hire locals?? I use one for my balcony here in Florida and it is a great little add on. My question was does anyone know if any of the stores sell it there? Apparently not Sirena. You're kidding right? Sure you can bring it here but it isn't going to cool much of anything. You'd be better off hiring a couple of locals to fan you with palm leaves.
Exactly.. I bought one from Amazon and CVS here in the US but I know what some friends pay Eden Norte there every month for Aire.I just saw this on Amazon. Less than 50 bucks, And it's wireless/rechargeable! Weight is less than 2 pounds. 2500 reviews with 88% 5 stars I never would have expected one to be that good.
People here pay a lot because they don't have an inverter A/C and set their A/C on 60 degrees so it runs non stop.Exactly.. I bought one from Amazon and CVS here in the US but I know what some friends pay Eden Norte there every month for Aire.
Yeah, there are some tall tales in that post.People here pay a lot because they don't have an inverter A/C and set their A/C on 60 degrees so it runs non stop.
I have an inverter A/C set on 78 degrees that runs 24/7 which is comfortable and my electric bill is less than 20 dollars a month.
Well you didn't need to post your personal data. Right there, a standard 2 bedroom with no AC, a couple of pedastal and ceiling fans, with a small backup power inverter of say 1.5kw consumes on average about 200 to 240 kWh/month. You have achieved some major feat of pseudoscience to run that AC 24/7, plus the rest of your household appliances and only have 133kwh for the month. That's just magic mafriend. You're right. During the late summer months, it can get as high as 40 dollars!!!

Nope, not buying it. I guess I'm just not smart about it. There's no way you can consume only 133kwh for the period. I know folks with efficiency rentals with one ceiling fan and the classic executive fridge and they pull 100+ kWh. I know for a fact you've stated you have "storage freezers" where you keep your Bravo bulk deals🤣Just showing it can be done if you're smart about it.
The misting fans work great out West in the USA, very dry heat. We also have one on the patio area. But the issue I have using them where it is more humid, is the smell. For some reason it always smells like "sewer" to me. We tried it at the house in New Jersey and the smell was horrible. Friends have one at their Florida home and it is the same issue. My MIL wanted one for their house in the campo after she saw ours a few years ago, but we talked her out of it.When I was at my son's home in Arizona he had a misting fan outside on his patio. You hook up your hose to the fan. It worked wonders and when I returned to the DR, I ordered one from Amazon. First of all, by the time I could feel the cool air, I had to put it within feet of me. Then within minutes, I was dripping wet, I assume because of the humidity in the air combined wiith the moisture the fan was putting out. And then the next time I tried to use it, apparently the water plugged the intake. No moist air blew out.
1. Lesson learned the hard way.
2. The air in Tucson, Arizona is very different than the air here.
3. Think before I buy gadgets such as this.
Wet t-shirt. Wet it thoroughly under a faucet, wringe it out a bit and put it on. Keeps me cool and mobile for about an hour when doing work in the heat. Most effective way of direct cooling the body, no contest lol.
