The Dominican Republic is expected to be spared from the strong winds and rains of the storm that is making its way across the Atlantic Ocean. The storm is tracking as TD11 or future Josefine. DR1 Forum weather forecaster, MikeFisher, in the 2020 Hurricane Season thread, explains that the storm is unlikely to reach more than tropical storm category given the dry air and wind shear in the Caribbean Sea area.
Notwithstanding, this is the hurricane season and all preparations should be complete. International forecasters warn this is one of the most active hurricane seasons. To monitor storms this hurricane season, see the DR1 Weather & Beyond Forum’s 2020 Hurricane Season thread.
