On the old scary road from Bavaro to Uvero Alto there are at least 2 places that have millions of beer bottles. (Back in June).
I'm thinking they are exporting more or just creating another artificial shortage to jack the prices.

delays recycling the bottles ----- they recycle ?????
Yes , they recycle
Some make a job of collecting empties and selling them back

I understand the shortage now... home consumption
The bars/restaurants can't collect the empties for return
The truck delivers beer and removes the empties (in cases) from the retailer

I have seen it

and if you keep an eye out.... you'll see the telltale scuffing on the bottles from recycling.

Not much, but it is done.... re-use

I have a hard time believing it's a shortage of bottles. I too have a couple of recyclers I pass frequently and they take them out by the container loads.
